Red Letters

Are you waiting on a Superhero ? What does superhero mean to you and me. As a hero that originates from a far away galaxy, or a planet like Krypton. A fictional character of cartoons and movies having the ability to fly and x ray vision to fight for truth and justice.

Let me introduce you to the real phenomenon and a movie based on a true story. Imagine, you are the audience watching a movie where Father is the director, Holy Spirit is the script and Jesus is our superhero who was born, not of blood nor of the will of flesh nor of the will of man, but of God who fought this war of justice on the cross with red letters for our enormous debt. Revelation 5:9 " You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God, persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.

We can gratify our souls watching a three hour superhero movie. How much more worthy is Jesus who carried his cross for six hours from the third hour at 9 am to about 3 pm. Then the sun goes dark, the temple torn in two, an earthquake thereafter unlike the other superheroes who are fictitious. When we contemplate the cross, what do you see? humiliation, anguish, vengeance, vexation, resentment, impotent. No he was a superhero, who was unblemished and victorious. Jesus took the humiliation, anguish, all of it and has repudiated it all on the cross for the sake of our sins. We see him as a true Superhero who was passionate, faultless, compassionate, forbearing, faithful and jealous for us. Jesus paid our debt through his atonement on the cross. We deserved eternal death. You were once sold in sin, now you have been redeemed by the depth paid in full.

One can't imagine to be cast into a fiery oven, great furnace, lasting for eternal. Jesus our superhero went into the very depths of hell and fought the great battle. Satan was no match for our Superhero. Revelation 20:15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. Therefore let us run towards his mercy seat when its accessible for us today. This Superhero is coming back on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. This will surely be a eternal veracious movie displayed for every eye to glance indeed.
